Find Out More About The Money You Are Owed

Your energy broker should declare how much they will make (in commission) from arranging your new business contract. In many cases, the broker does not declare any commission. Instead, they claim it’s either a free service or they’re given a token or finder’s fee from the energy supplier.

When your energy contact was arranged, did the energy broker declare their commission verbally or written within the contract? If not, then you may have been mis-sold an energy contract.

The commission an energy broker receives is based on the energy rate (at the time the contract was agreed) and the length of the contract e.g. 2 years. Many brokers will persuade clients to take a longer-term contract, claiming that the market is likely to increase in this time. The longer the contract, the more commission they will receive.

The amount of compensation you could be entitled to, depends on the energy rate and the length of the energy contract.

Although this is highly unlikely, there is a small chance you may have to go to court. If this happens, our expert solicitors will be with you, every step of the way.

You will need:

Any contracts you have between you and the energy broker (audio is fine, as sometimes they send recorded contracts), and any bills/invoices relating to those contracts, we can go back all the way to the year 2000.

This is fine, we can assist you with getting contracts and bills from your supplier.

Energy brokerages like to hide the fact they are energy brokers by calling themselves something completely different. Energy consultants, buying groups, they are all the same. A buying group will normally tell you that there is ‘power in numbers’ and suggest that you can get cheaper prices by buying as a group (normally schools, farms etc), this isn’t always the case in in most situations you’re actually not receiving any savings at all. They will also tell you that they offer ‘bill analysis’ as part of the service, something you get for free with a normal energy supplier anyway!

All is not lost! You can simply reopen the company, sort the claim with us, then close the business down again!

Another good factor of us being energy specialists, is that we are exactly that! We can offer you much cheaper energy contracts than the brokers, and you won’t be in the same position again.
